It gives me immense pleasure and delight to extend a warm welcome to the Department of Applied Chemistry at DIAT. I take this opportunity to introduce to our vibrant family of dynamic students, eminent faculty members and technical staff. We being one of the oldest departments of DIAT, have a rich heritage and long history of imparting high-quality academic teaching and intensive research experience in cutting-edge thrust areas of chemical science. Since its inception, the department has been nurturing students to become skilled chemistry professionals to serve Industry, Academia and R&D organizations as evident from shining careers of our alumnus.
Our teaching faculty are not only excellent academicians but also eminent researchers of international repute, which is evident from respective high quality publications in peer reviewed national/international journals, patents and successful execution of innovative research projects sponsored by various government agencies such as DST, DRDO, DIAT to name a few. The department is enriched with high end equipment and instruments along with modern research laboratories, facilitating innovative and futuristic pedagogical techniques in the best benefit of our students. Our teaching faculty and technical staff ensure enriching hands-on learning experience of the MSc and PhD students for advancement of scientific knowledge in specialized fields including Organic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, and Physical Chemistry.
We strive to constantly ignite critical thinking, knowledge up gradation, skill enhancement of our students by facilitating close student- faculty interaction, eminent guest lectures, industrial exposure excursions and project work/training as part of academic curriculum. Our programme syllabus are structured as per National Education Policy-2020, thus offering systematic credit-based curriculum along with inter-departmental elective course studies under various PG programme being run by the department. We invite deserving students to enrol in our MSc and PhD programme to explore endless opportunities to shape a fulfilling career in the domain of Applied Chemistry.
